JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for an experienced Chinese cuisine chef and friendly kitchen team at the Home Kong Taste, Canary Garden (E149SH) The candidate must have experience of preparing and cooking fresh food to a high standard, be well motivated and get on well with others. A good sense of humour is essential! We are looking for someone to assist the team and take responsibility for preparing and cooking good quality food, in a busy environment, whilst maintaining a high standard of food hygiene. Our menu has a range of Chinese and Hong Kong Food as well as a mix of dishes influenced from around the world. We encourage all the chefs to get involved in developing the menu and improving the business going forwards. Job Requirement: 1.Must have Authentic experience of preparing and cooking Chinese cuisine mains and starters 2.coordinate with other Kitchen Staff and take responsibility whenever required. 3.adhere to food safety standards and maintain cleanliness in Kitchen Area 4.requisitions or purchases and examines foodstuffs from suppliers to ensure quality; 5.supervises, organised and instructs kitchen staff and manages the whole kitchen for an area of the kitchen; 6.ensures relevant hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained within the kitchen; 7.plans and coordinates kitchen work such as fetching, clearing and cleaning of equipment and utensils. Skill, Experience and Qualifications: Previous chef experience, preferably in a Chinese cuisine kitchen environment. Proficiency in English and Chinese Possess an ability to communicate with internal and external suppliers. Bright, enthusiastic and willingness to learn and develop Maintain inventory food records and supplies. Understanding controlled waste management Master different varieties of Dosa's. Determine daily food portions. Estimate food requirements and daily costs. Capable of creating new accompaniments according to trends and customer tastes.
